8 Loomly Alternatives for Local Businesses (2026, Honestly Compared)

Loomly is a good product aimed at a slightly different business than yours. It is built for teams — the calendar, the approval workflow and the multi-brand structure all make sense when several people touch a post before it goes out.

If you are one person running a local business, you are paying for coordination you do not need, and you are still doing the posting. So the useful question is which part of the job you actually want to stop doing.

The short answer

  • You only ever used it as a scheduler — Buffer, Metricool, Meta Business Suite
  • You want the AI writing help, at your size — SocialBee, Planoly
  • You never wanted to run a tool at all — Boomp, $99 Social, a local agency

Read the second column first. It is the one that decides whether you are still doing this in six months.

If you only used Loomly to schedule

Meta Business Suite. Free, native Facebook and Instagram scheduling. If those are your only two channels you may not need to pay anything. Nothing for LinkedIn, Pinterest or Google Business Profile. Meta Business Suite

Buffer. The simplest paid scheduler in the category, with a free tier. Priced per channel, which matters — see the pricing note below. Buffer pricing

Metricool. Scheduling plus the best analytics of the cheap tools, and a free tier for one brand. The strongest pick if you want to know what actually worked. Metricool pricing

If you wanted the AI help without the team overhead

SocialBee. AI post generation organised around evergreen categories, so a good post recycles instead of being rewritten. Sized for one business rather than an agency roster. SocialBee pricing

Planoly. Visual planning with AI assistance, Instagram-first in its instincts. Lighter than Loomly for a single brand. Planoly pricing

To be accurate about what you would be giving up: Loomly's AI is genuinely capable. Its official product page advertises brand-voice detection, content generated to match your identity, and AI handling of comments and DMs. Comparison pages claiming schedulers cannot write content are out of date — including an earlier version of this one.

If you never wanted to run a tool

$99 Social. Done-for-you since 2012, $99/month for 10 posts on one channel, with further channels priced separately. Long track record and a large customer base. $99 Social

A local agency. The right answer when you need campaign strategy, paid advertising, shoots or community management. A different order of pricing, and you will sit in briefs.

Boomp. Reads the website you already have, makes 20 posts a month from what is on it, and publishes the ones you approve to social plus Google Business Profile. The difference from Loomly is not that Loomly cannot write — it is that with Boomp you never open a tool or write a prompt. The batch arrives, you approve or skip, it goes out. Buffer's price is per channel. Four channels is $20 a month, not $5. Pages listing Buffer at "$5" against an all-in competitor price are not comparing the same thing.

Planoly says "check" rather than a number because its tiers vary by add-on and no single entry price could be read reliably. A gap is honest; a guess is how the same tool ends up listed at three materially different prices across three vendors' comparison pages. An earlier version of this page put Loomly at $26 a month, which was one of those wrong numbers.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best Loomly alternative for a local business?

It depends which part of Loomly you are paying for and not using. If you only need scheduling, Buffer or Metricool cost a fraction. If you want the AI content help without the team workflow, SocialBee is closer to your size. If you want the posts made and published without opening a tool, that is the done-for-you category — Boomp and $99 Social.

Why do small businesses leave Loomly?

Loomly is built for teams. Its calendar, approval workflow and multi-brand structure make sense when several people touch a post before it goes out. A solo owner is paying for coordination they do not need, and still doing the posting themselves.

Does Loomly write posts for you?

Loomly advertises AI that detects your brand voice and generates content consistent with it, plus AI help on comments and DMs. It is the closest a scheduler currently gets to doing the writing. You still open the app and drive it, because the content is generated on your request rather than delivered on a cadence.

Can I trust the prices on this page?

They were taken from each vendor's own pricing page and checked on 29 July 2026, and each links back to its source. Planoly says "check current pricing" rather than a number because its tiers vary by add-on. Note that Buffer's price is per channel, which is the most common way this comparison gets misreported.

Is Boomp a Loomly alternative?

Only if you want to stop operating a tool. If you like Loomly's calendar and your business genuinely has an approval chain, Loomly is doing a job Boomp does not do. Boomp is for the owner who never wanted a content calendar in the first place.
