Get YouTube tags for your video
Describe your video or paste its transcript. We write tags from what you give us and size them to fit YouTube's 500-character limit.
Do YouTube tags still matter?
Less than most people think. YouTube says tags play a minimal role in how videos are found, and that your title, thumbnail and description matter more. Tags still help when people often misspell your topic or a name in it. Keep them about the video. YouTube says adding excessive tags to a description goes against its spam policies.
Questions
How many characters can YouTube tags use?
500 in total. The commas between tags count, and a tag with a space counts two extra characters. We count the same way and stop before 500.
Should I add misspellings?
Only ones people really make. YouTube says tags help most when your topic is commonly misspelled.
Where do I paste the tags?
In YouTube Studio. For a new upload, click More options in the Details step and add your tags. For a video already uploaded, select it under Content, click Show more and add your tags.
Can I use it without a transcript?
Yes. Describe the video in a few sentences. A transcript gives us more to write from.
Do you keep what I paste?
No. We do not keep your transcript or your tags. We save your email to send you tips from boomp.net. You do not need an account.
Is it free?
Yes. Enter your email to get your tags. No account or card.
