What should a small business marketing package do?
A small business marketing package should take ownership of a defined set of recurring jobs that help customers find the business, understand the offer and make contact. Compare the work delivered and the work left with you. A long list of channels tells you less than a clear monthly scope.
Start with the missing step. If your website already explains the offer and brings inquiries, social posting may be enough. If customers cannot find the right service page, see current information on Google or work out how to contact you, buy help with that path too.
At boomp.net, the three service levels are $275 a month for Social, handled, $900 for Local marketing, and $1,800 for Marketing partner. These are our prices, not an industry average. Kathleen Celmins works directly with the business. See the service plans.

The local scope covers one business and one location. The broader plan builds on that scope. Full website rebuilds, paid advertising and ad spend, original shoots, customer-message handling and custom software are separate from these monthly packages. Confirm access, the first priorities and the written scope before work starts.
If you want software and will review the work yourself, the self-serve plans start at $9 a month. The service fee buys a person handling agreed work. It is a different choice from buying more software features.
Which package fits your business?
Choose social help when posting is the missing job
Your service pages are useful. Your contact form works. People can check your hours and services. But social posting keeps falling off your list.
Social, handled removes preparation, review and publishing from that recurring task. You still share business news, correct facts and supply permission for any customer material. You handle customer conversations. This package does not include website improvements or search pages.
Choose local marketing when discovery and inquiries need work
You have an existing website, but a customer has to piece together what you do, where you work and how to ask for a quote. Your Google profile and website need attention from the same person.
Local marketing connects the monthly tasks: keep the profile current, make a useful search page, fix small website problems, set up a review-request process and track inquiries. It is a fit when you need those pieces handled together within a defined scope.
Choose a marketing partner when you have more to promote
You have regular offers or news, an email audience and more useful questions to answer on your website. You want someone to coordinate those pieces each month.
Marketing partner adds the second search page, a customer email, an offer page or promotion and a planning call. Choose it because you need those deliverables. A higher fee does not guarantee faster rankings or a set number of customers.
What does connected local marketing look like?
Consider a single-location landscaping business. This is an example work plan, not a client result or a promise about the first month.
- Find the gap. The website lists services, but a homeowner cannot tell whether irrigation repairs are available or how to request them.
- Improve the answer. Create or improve an irrigation repair page. Explain the service area, signs of a problem, what the visit involves and the next step. Use facts supplied by the business.
- Make contact easy. Use the small website updates for a clear quote link and current contact details. Check where submitted inquiries arrive.
- Connect the profile and posts. Keep Google Business Profile information accurate. Use social posts to answer related questions and point interested people to the service page.
- Ask and measure. Set up a review request after completed work. Track recorded inquiries and ask the business which became booked jobs.
That connects content to a customer decision. The monthly update should distinguish work completed, visits, inquiries and confirmed booked work. Those are different measures.
Should SEO, Google Business Profile and social media be in one package?
They can belong together when they serve the same customer path. A useful website page explains the service. A complete Google profile helps someone assess the business. Social content gives people another way to discover or remember it. A clear contact step lets interest become an inquiry.
Google says local results depend mainly on relevance, distance and prominence. Complete and accurate profile information helps Google understand the business. Reviews also matter. A provider cannot change the searcher's location or buy a better local ranking. See Google's local ranking guidance.
Ask what the provider will actually update. Posting to a profile alone is different from maintaining accurate details, improving website answers and setting up a review-request process. Website vs social media explains the roles in more detail.
Do you need a separate AEO service?
AEO means answer engine optimization. For this work, it means publishing clear, accurate answers that people and search systems can understand. It is not a promise that an AI tool will recommend the business.
Google says its existing SEO practices apply to AI Overviews and AI Mode. It does not require special AI markup or a separate optimization process. Pages still need to be accessible, useful and eligible for Search. See Google's guidance on AI features.
A practical search page answers a real buying question, explains the service with business-specific facts and gives the reader a useful next step. For example, an irrigation repair page can explain what is repaired and how to arrange a visit. Repeating a city name across a stack of nearly identical pages adds little help.
What should you ask before handing over marketing?
- What arrives each month? Get quantities and examples. Define what counts as a small website update or a search page.
- What do you need from me? Name the facts, photos, access and decisions the provider needs. Set a way to share business changes.
- Who owns the accounts? Keep business access to the website, domain, profile and social accounts. Agree on how provider access ends.
- What costs extra? Ask about hosting, subscriptions, a rebuild, ads, shoots and work outside the monthly scope.
- How will we judge the work? Check delivery and accuracy first. Then review recorded inquiries and confirmed sales with their source when known.
You do not need to settle every marketing question before you ask for help. You need a clear first job and a person responsible for it. Compare the three plans and talk with Kathleen.
